Newsletter #3: It's Almost Fall

Someone had to say it...

August is 60% over. Now what?

Can you believe it is already August 19th? Because I can’t! I feel like everyone has a love-hate relationship with Summer. I’m happy it’s hot outside and I look tan, but I am certainly ready for my favorite season to arrive: Fall!

There’s no better feeling – in my opinion – than going for a walk with a pumpkin iced coffee or smoothie (homemade, of course) in hand during crisp 60 degree weather. I’m excited to work on some delicious and simple recipes in early-September that involve pumpkins and apples… stay tuned!

Road Trip: Complete!

My family and I drove from New York to Michigan this past weekend. We took a break in Pittsburgh so my mom, dad, and sister could go to the Bruce Springsteen concert (I stayed back at the hotel with Louie). The next morning, we got back in the car and arrived in Ann Arbor, Michigan around noon. I had Sweetgreen for lunch two days in a row… shocker! It’s just so good (and clean). We also love Knight’s Steakhouse and Sava’s in Ann Arbor.

We flew home last night and I am able to get back to my routine for five days…

Trip 4/4 In August: Denver, Colorado

On Saturday, I’m heading to Denver to attend Newtopia Now for the first time! I can’t begin to explain how excited I am. Newtopia Now is sort of a mini version of Expo West, which I went to in California earlier this year.

There will be hundreds of CPG brands on display, showcasing their new and trending products. It’s my version of a candy store! Be sure you’re following me on Instagram so you don’t miss any of my content during this.

Back to school, back to reality, both?

Whether you are going back to school or simply want to get back in control of your diet, lifestyle, and health, I got you covered. I added hundreds of my favorite products for “back-to-…" (you fill in the blank) to my Amazon Storefront here.

Also, I wanted to share a link to my “greens powder” swap that doesn’t leave me bloated and feeling gross. I found this company earlier this year and have been loving their sugar-free gummy bears! These pack so many nutrients in gummy bear-form and are actually delicious. You can get up to 45% off by clicking here – no code needed!

A Special Discount Just For You

If you’ve been following me on Instagram or TikTok, you’d know that I bought an Oura Ring around four months ago to track my sleep, stress levels, and readiness every morning. This ring has other abilities too, like counting your steps, tracking your heart rate, and so much more.

I used to be a daily Apple Watch wearer, but I didn’t love the bulkiness that comes with wearing it every day. I have never been a ring person, but the Oura Ring is my exception to this. It has become my “everything tracker”! My mom and sister both have one now and love it.

I reached out to the Oura Team and asked for a discount code for my followers and newsletter readers. After a few days, they responded and said yes!

They never do discounts, so I feel special and honored to provide you with one. Click here for $30 off your Oura Ring! No code is needed.

“The Real Weight Loss Equation” Podcast

Before I forget… be sure to watch my recent feature on Happy Jack Entertainment’s podcast here. It’s a great one. We dive deep into weight loss, healthy eating, and tips you can use to feel your best.

One more thing… mastering the basics

I wanted to touch on four basics relating to health and wellness that are often overlooked when trying to get healthy. As a health coach, I often see my clients and followers look for shortcuts to losing weight, completely disregarding these four basic principles:

  1. Steps. Aim to walk more than you are currently walking, on average, daily. Walking is the most underrated form of exercise. It is extremely beneficial for our overall mental and physical health. My goal is to average 10,000 steps/day.

  2. Protein. Prioritize protein at your meals. If you’re not making protein a priority, you have no idea how much more full and satiated you will feel after doing so.

    • Take your goal weight in lbs and multiply it by 0.8. Aim to eat between that amount and your weight in lbs, in grams, of protein daily.

      • Example: if your reasonable goal weight is 150 lbs, aim to eat between 120 and 150 grams of protein daily.

  3. Hydration. Are you drinking enough water? Are you incorporating electrolytes at least once a day? Let’s not overcomplicate how much water you are drinking… but are you drinking enough where you don’t feel dehydrated and dry all the time? These are my favorite electrolytes – I put one serving in my water at least once a day. You can use code hunter15 at checkout.

  4. Sleep. If I could prescribe you with one thing, it would be sleep. We need sleep in order to recover, think properly, be mentally with it, and to feel good. Aim to get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep/night. Once you make this a priority, your life will get exponentially better.

    • Here are some bed & bathroom products that I love.
