Healthy For Fat Loss & PROTEIN
Consistency, healthy vs. healthy for fat loss, and protein.
Hi everyone,
To be honest, I have not been as consistent with sending out my newsletters as I originally planned. I get busy and often forget to write them! That said, I really want this to be a space where I can go more in depth than on social media, share context, and explain things more clearly. I’m going to do my best to send emails more consistently going forward.
Now let’s talk about a topic that always sparks great conversation.
Healthy vs. healthy for weight loss:
I think of this like a Venn diagram.
Some foods are healthy for your body overall. They use better ingredients and provide important nutrients, but they can also be high in calories.
Some foods are beneficial specifically for weight loss. They are lower in calories, high in protein, but might not have the best ingredients.
Then there is the overlap which consists of foods that are both healthy for you and healthy for weight loss!
The key takeaway is this: just because something is considered healthy does not automatically mean it supports weight loss goals. That does not make the food bad. It just means context matters.
This is why two people can eat what looks like a healthy diet and get very different results. Goals matter, calories matter, and protein and fiber matter!
Now let's talk about protein...
Why protein is so important:
Protein is one of the most important nutrients when it comes to weight loss and body recomposition.
It helps keep you full longer and reduces constant snacking.
It supports stable blood sugar.
It helps preserve lean muscle while losing fat.
It slightly increases calorie burn through digestion.
It makes meals feel more satisfying and complete.
Most people significantly undereat protein without realizing it, and that alone can make weight loss feel MUCH harder than it needs to be.
My favorite protein sources right now:
Grass-fed/finished beef
Non fat greek yogurt
Organic deli turkey
Chicken breast
Protein foods I have been loving lately:
Royo bagels
Zen Waffles
These make it much easier to hit protein goals without feeling restrictive, which is a huge part of long-term success.
I also put together a full list of the top sellers on my Amazon Storefront from last month. There are some must-buys on this list!
Thank you for reading this week’s newsletter!
